Storylight’s mission is simple

We bridge the gap between migrant women and their sociopolitical inclusion by providing them customized workshops and learning materials to enhance their knowledge and skills required to produce digital stories.

More about the project

Participants will gain the necessary tools to share their personal experiences to enable them feel empowered in times of disempowerment, and amplify their voices and visibility locally and across Europe.

To maximize impact, STORYLIGHT promotes local learning centers as hubs for lifelong learning, collaborating with educators, civil society, and cultural institutions. As part of the project activities, the intention is to encourage social inclusion, civic involvement, and democracy; to draw in and provide learning opportunities for all members of the community, including marginalized groups.

The project encourages cooperation between adult education providers, local learning centers, libraries, museums, civil society, and the larger community (NGOs, local government, health, culture, etc.) in order to inspire and facilitate the acquisition of digital competencies that enable migrant women to be resilient and adaptable in the face of change and uncertainty.

The project also strengthens the professional development of educators and adult learning staff, upskilling them to improve learning opportunities for marginalized groups. By integrating digital and sustainability-focused teaching methods, the project aligns with the green and digital transitions, ensuring equal access and inclusivity in adult education.

Our objectives

The outcome of the STORYLIGHT project revolves around creating educational resources, tools, and methodologies to enhance the digital storytelling skills of migrant women and improve adult education practices. Here’s a breakdown of the expected outcome:

  1. Research and Reports – The project will produce national and transnational reports, as well as a cross-country guide to provide insights on inclusive digital storytelling in adult education.
  2. STORYLIGHT Methodology – A structured approach integrating participatory action research with digital storytelling to empower migrant women.
  3. Digital Learning Tools
    • A Multifunctional E-Learning Platform with an open badges system to certify learning.
    • An Online Learning Course specifically designed for migrant women to build their digital storytelling skills.
    • A 3D interactive online game, making digital storytelling more engaging and accessible.
  4. Educational Resources for Trainers & Educators
    • The STORYLIGHT Toolkit, offering guidance for adult educators on integrating digital storytelling into their teaching.
    • Transnational training of trainers, ensuring educators are equipped with the necessary competencies to support migrant women.
    • Learning workshops for migrant women, providing hands-on opportunities to practice and develop storytelling skills.

The project ensures that both learners and educators benefit from new methodologies, interactive tools, and research-driven strategies that promote digital literacy and inclusivity across Europe.
